THE SAFE SPACE CAMPAIGN
“Transgender rights are human rights.”
According to a recent study from the University of Chicago, LGBT+ youth are 120% more likely to experience homelessness than non-LGBT+ youth. The Safe Space campaign addresses the issue of homelessness faced by transgender youth, specifically helping youth who identify as a person of color or disabled. The goal of the The Safe Space campaign is to provide resources and cultivate awareness towards trans youth homelessness. The current U.S administration has failed to protect marginalized groups such as the trans community. That is why the Safe Space campaign is here to remind U.S citizens and the federal administration that trans rights are human rights, and that the trans community can never be erased. We hope to reach out to the trans youth community and promote empowerment, radical acceptance, and to establish the idea that every single person, no matter who they are, deserves a home.
Meet the Safe Space Team.
